Is the GOP really the Big Tent party? We'll see.

Dear Michael Steele,
I just read the Politico article on you being in trouble with some of the GOP leadership on the abortion issue.
I, too, along with many of my conservative friends, believe that although abortion is abhorrent in most circumstances, a woman should not be forced to stay pregnant if she doesn't want to be. The reasons for her wanting to abort could be many, or just one, it doesn't matter.
If it's a Christian who's criticizing a pro-choice stance they don't have much faith in a baby falling into God's loving embrace at death.
Be that as it may, I will remain anti-abortion and pro-choice until the day that there is a "Fairness Doctrine" in place to deal with not only the pregnant female and the male who impregnated her.
If it becomes the law of the land, as in a constitutional amendment prohibiting abortion, will that include up to nine months of prison time for the female? What about the sperm donor? What kind of time does he do?
What Law will maintain the family status of the pregnant female if it should be disclosed that she is pregnant and shouldn't be? Do the Feds abduct her and hide her away in Switzerland until the birth? And have her mysteriously reappears 6-9 months later?
How many ways should the woman be punished for her indiscretion, her mistake - as Obama called it?
Who in their right mind believes that all these girl's families will turn out to be loving and forgiving and welcome the formerly pregnant females back into the fold? Or maybe that's the full price that these girls should pay for getting pregnant in the first place: Banishment. Again, I would need to hear suitable punishment for the males.
If I had to make the choice between the life of the woman and the life of the unborn child I would have to side with the woman. She's already here, a viable person, who would have the opportunity to make amends, or even stand as an example to others of what not to do with your body when you're not in the position to be a mother.
I hope that the position you took in your February interview does not mean the end of your term as GOP Chair because if the GOP is supposed to be the "Big Tent" party we pro-choice Republicans have the choice of not coming out of the closet as Republicans or looking to the Democratic party for an affiliation - as abominable as that thought is.
Trying to explain this to your leadership might not be so easy. But I'll stand up with you and maybe even bring along a few of those people who agree with me.
